Before IndyCar Series drivers take the green flag at Texas Motor Speedway, a drone will deliver the green flag.
The Inspire 2 drone from DXC Technology, the race's new title sponsor, will take off with the flag from Turn 3. The drone, with the ability to accelerate from 0 to 50 mph in just 5 seconds, will fly through Turns 2 and 1 and then down the frontstretch.
Did you guys see @DXCTechnology is delivering the green flag to the #DXC600 via drone?! They let me pilot the drone a few days ago at their headquarters but oddly enough haven’t asked me to fly it in tomorrow... #INDYCAR #SportsBiz @TXMotorSpeedway https://t.co/6WFat5l2mO

The drone will then land with the flag on the DXC Technology 600 logo on the frontstretch. There it will be accepted by honorary starter Dan Hushon, the senior vice president and chief technology officer for DXC.
The company is also a sponsor on the No. 22 car of Team Penske driver Simon Pagenaud, the 2016 series champ who visited the company's office in Plano earlier this week.
