In Lilly King's world, racing is just racing.

So the two-time Olympic gold medalist gladly led the 24-car starting grid to the yard of bricks for Saturday's IndyCar Grand Prix.

"I love racing in the pool, why not love racing out of the pool?” she said before gettinb behind the wheel of the pace car Saturday. "It’s been pretty cool to see how everything works here.”

For King, the trip to Indianapolis Motor Speedway is a first.

Despite growing up about three hours away in Evansville, Indiana, attending college at Indiana University and trraveling the globe for swim meets, King had never watched a race until Saturday.

She might be hooked now.

King said she plans to attend the May 27th Indianapolis 500 _ as a fan..
