DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- Dale Earnhardt Jr. has his throwback fashion down to a T.
Earnhardt showed up at Daytona in a powder blue Bobby Allison T-shirt, one of about 150 vintage race T-shirts he has in his collection. Earnhardt, who earned rave reviews in his NBC Sports broadcast debut, says he's all about the retro shirts.
"The challenge is really trying to find the size," Earnhardt said, laughing. "A large in the '70s ain't a large in today's standards. Trying to make sure you're going to wear the shirt and fit in the shirt. I bought a ton that (my wife) wears and they fit her. There's a lot more of those available because she can wear a medium from the '70s. The sizing has changed so much. Really finding one in good shape is difficult."

Earnhardt say he scours eBay to find shirts to add to his expanding collection. He likes shirts from the 1970s and 1980s and is always on the hunt for anything with his late father's image.
"I'm not particular about it," he said. "Dad's stuff is great. Lot of his stuff from the '80s is hard to find, especially the Wrangler stuff."
