NASCAR has moved the start of the Sunday’s race at Bristol up one hour to 1 p.m. EDT due to the threat of heavy rains and thunderstorms in the area.

But it may not matter.

Rain is predicted beginning in the morning and is expected to last all day and well into the night. There is a 50 percent chance of rain at 10 a.m., an 80 percent chance at the time of the race and a 100 percent change by 3 p.m, according the Weather Channel.

If the race is postponed it will be run on Monday.

The only NASCAR race that has had to be postponed this year was at Martinsville.

Ironically, the weather was beautiful for Saturday’s Xfinity Series race with temperatures in the mid-70s.
