A North Texas fourth-grader who won a competition to design a die-cast for NASCAR Xfinity Series driver Darrell Wallace Jr. visited Texas Motor Speedway on Saturday.
During his visit to the track Saturday, Xavier Gooden was a special guest of NASCAR during the driver's meeting before the Xfinity race. He also got to visit with Wallace.
Gooden's design of pink, blue and green was themed "Cure Cancer 2017." The paint scheme was dedicated to his two grandmothers with colon cancer.
Wallace had visited Gooden at his elementary school on Thursday, and presented the boy with a Lionel Racing 1:24 scale die-cast bearing his winning design.
