KANSAS CITY, Kan. (AP) — General Tire is entering the stock car racing by becoming the official tire supplier of ARCA, replacing longtime manufacturer Hoosier beginning next season.

The move was announced Friday before the series' season-ending race at Kansas Speedway.

General Tire celebrated its 100th anniversary last month, and marketing director Travis Roffler said the multiyear sponsorship was the perfect way to begin the company's next 100 years.

"ARCA produces some fantastic racing and allows us to expose the General brand to a whole new audience of motorsports fans," Roffler said. "We're eager to expand our portfolio and showcase our technologies to such a dedicated audience."

ARCA president Ron Drager said the tire company's deal includes "a broad-based activation package with our broadcast partners, race event venues and teams."

Hoosier had been a supplier for ARCA events since 1985, and became the series' official tire in 1995. The company signed a contract extension two years ago that ended with this season.
