Viso, Andretti top Indy 500 speed chart Friday

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — E.J. Viso posted the fastest lap at Friday's practice for the Indianapolis 500, reaching 229.537 mph before lightning, heavy rain and wind shut things down.

Practice was called off about 2 1/2 hours early as water stood on the straightaway and in pit road.

Marco Andretti, who posted some of the fastest speeds all week, was second-fastest Friday at 228.754 mph. Indy 500 rookie Carlos Munoz, also a regular at the top of the speed charts during the first days of practice, was third-fastest at 228.520, Will Power was fourth at 228.401 and J.R. Hildebrand was fifth at 227.549.

Around the track, he's confident, respected at age 36 and could be on the cusp of greatness in his first season with the team.

Sato expected nothing less.
