Texas Motor Speedway is still laying rubber on its repaved track for Sunday's Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race.
After the NASCAR Xfinity race Saturday, the Team Texas Driving School was giving stock car rides to fans for 3 1/2 hours. Those cars will be running on the second higher groove
The track then planned to run its Tire Monster and the Kentucky Speedway Tire Dragon on the track from 10 p.m. until 1 a.m. That will resume at 6 a.m. Sunday until pre-race activities begin.

Those machines are designed to add rubber to the turns on the 1 1/2-mile track that was completely repaved with changes made in Turns 1 and 2.
Erik Jones, who won the Xfinity race and is in Sunday's Cup race as well, said the higher grooves "came around" during the race and that it's only going to get better with the extended dragging.
