Chip Gaines hopefully won't be flipping anything next month at Texas Motor Speedway when he leads NASCAR drivers to the green flag

Gaines, part of the husband-wife team behind the hit remodeling show "Fixer Upper" on HGTV, will be the honorary pace car driver for the NASCAR Cup Series race at Texas on November 5.

Gaines, who grew up in nearby Colleyville, Texas, says he can't promise that he'll pull over after the first lap. He says it might be the first time he doesn't get in trouble for speeding in Roanoke, the small town near the speedway.

Joanna and Chip Gaines have announced that the "Fixer Upper" show will end after its upcoming fifth season that premieres in November. The couple redo houses near their Waco home on the show.

The couple met after both graduated from Baylor. They have been gutting, remodeling and flipping homes together for the past 12 years as owners of Magnolia in Waco. They have worked on more than 100 homes together.
