Austin Dillon will be sporting the Red, White and Blue on his No. 3 Dow Chevrolet in Texas.

The American flag and Olympic rings are painted on the hood and rear deck lid. There are snowflakes on each side of the car for Sunday's NASCAR Cup race at Texas Motor Speedway.

The patriotic paint scheme was unveiled Wednesday, exactly 100 days before the start of the 2018 Winter Olympics in South Korea, after Dillon took part in a “Speed of Science” panel discussion with about 75 college students at the University of North Texas.

Gordy Sheer, a luge legend who is now director of marketing and sponsorship for USA Luge, and Sam Crabtree, lead R&D manager for Dow Chemical Company, also took part in the panel discussion about the critical role of engineering and science in sports ranging from NASCAR to the Olympics.

University of North Texas officials and Texas Motor Speedway also announced a partnership that will be highlighted by college students having the opportunity for internships at the track which is less than 20 miles from Denton campus.
